Representative Eliud Galarza has an extensive Union background; he grew up and attended college in Puerto Rico. After graduating college, he was hired by a UFCW in Puerto Rico where he worked as an Organizer and Field Representative for Public Sector employees learning the basic skills that he would later continue to hone as he grew in experience and knowledge of the Labor movement. Over the years he would work for several different Unions throughout the US as a Union Representative and Organizer
In 2024 Representative Galarza would return to his UFCW roots when he applied for and was hired in an open position for a Union Representative at UFCW Local 2013.
Eliud brings a wealth of experience and knowledge with him as he began his assignments representing Local 2013 Members and as a result has connected well with the members. Representative Galarza has demonstrated a valuable skillset working with the Local’s Leadership and General Counsel on various projects.
His roots as an Organizer have also proven valuable as the Local has branched out into new shops for both internal as well as external organizing projects. He demonstrates the value of being enthusiastic, empathetic and assertive in his duties representing members and confident in knowledge of contracts and organized labor while dealing with employers. He works collaboratively with his Local 2013 team and is not afraid to jump in wherever needed.
