CBR Robert (Bob) Bellerive has been a lifelong Union member for 48 years and began working for Monsanto/Solutia Chemical Co.; this facility was Union Shop represented by the ICWUC, a Chemical Division of the UFCW.
Bob got involved with his Union by attending Union meetings early on in his career and becoming a Shop Steward and Safety Board Member for many years. In 1981 Bob was elected to his ICWUC local’s Executive Board where he held virtually every Board position until he retired in 2006; during that time Bob also served as a Vice President for the OSHA Region 1 VPPA and National OSHA Board member for 4 years.
In 2015, continuing the goals of delivering real Union Representation to our Members, President Carotenuto approached Brother Bellerive as a trusted Union Brother to assist in the rebuilding efforts at Local 2013 and in furtherance of delivering on those goals by tapping into his deep Union and Safety knowledge and experience, hiring him as a Traveling Union Representative for Local 2013 where he traveled to represent members at shops throughout the Northeast.
In the tasks & spirit of rebuilding and redefining UFCW Local 2013 into a local of sound Union Principles and hard fought, good Union contracts, Bob brings honesty and integrity to his approach to the work in front of us daily. On behalf of our Local 2013 Members, he strives each day to improve the contracts our members work under in the hope of improving their day-to-day lives.
In 2019 Representative Bellerive was promoted to the position of Collective Bargaining Representative (CBR) where he concentrates on all the various aspects of Local 2013’s largest employer contract; there CBR Bellerive has excelled and worked hard to improve those terms & conditions under that CBA. Bob is also the UFCW Local 2013 Grievance Chairman overseeing the disposition of any Mediation; Grievance; and/or Arbitration where he works hand-in-hand with our Attorney/General Counsel’s Office, as well as the Local 2013 Staff Representatives and affected members where we work to resolve and settle violations of the CBAs or find merit in the cases brought forward to move them through Arbitration where applicable.
In 2019 CBR Bellerive was appointed to an unexpired term in the role of Staff Vice President where he brings a wealth of Union knowledge and experience to supporting and achieving the goals laid out by the Local 2013 President and Executive Board.
