Representative Lidia Rota first came to UFCW Local 2013 while working in the H&W Fund Department where she interacted with Union Members assisting them with issues related to their H&W benefits and helping them to understand the benefits they had under their CBA.
In her role working for the Fund Department, members appreciated her willingness to go above and beyond trying to help them with the Fund related issues. As a result, Lidia became familiar with the Local 2013 Collective Bargaining Agreements and for a period also worked to translate many of them into Spanish in shops where Spanish was the primary language of the workforce.
In 2018 Lidia applied for the job of a Union Representative Trainee and has since trained and worked to hone her skills & knowledge in that position of a Union Representative. Representative Rota handles a variety of shops from different industries, assisting members to understand the CBA’s and pushing them to become more active in order to support their Local Union in the quest for improved contracts that seek to allow workers to be treated with dignity & respect, as well as working to improve things like safe working conditions along with improved wages and benefits.
