Jordan Coleman

Jordan Coleman

Union Representative

Representative Jordan Coleman realized the need to advocacy in the workplace as he worked his way through college; while working at one of these jobs he was an instrumental part of seeing that facility get organized into the Union ranks. Jordan saw how he and his co-workers were being treated as they shared the basic desire to make a decent wage, have manageable work schedules and ensure they were treated with dignity & respect.

As part of that early organizing effort Jordan not only saw the need to do better… he realized things would change by sitting on the sidelines and hoping for change… he stepped up and got involved, but he also participated in the different aspects of organizing to achieve that change. Once he got involved, he assisted in formulating their proposals and even in bargaining committee for a Union Contract alongside experienced Union Staff.

It was that early exposure to PARTICIPATING in the process to move things forward that motivated Jordan to pursue a career path in the UNION World. From those early lessons, along with attending worker rallies, joining picket lines and marching for racial justice, Jordan developed his passion to be part of something bigger.

In early 2023 Jordan applied to an opening and was hired into Local 2013 as a Union Representative in Training. Throughout his training he has progressed quickly and worked hard to carry those early lessons into his work every day, in helping Local 2013 Members. As a Union Representative, Jordan Colman works hard to promote that feeling of “SOLIDARITY” in every shop he visits because he knows the best way to advance and achieve positive change – is through the collective power and action of

members Standing United! Jordan believes that: “Solidarity is relating to your co-workers as real people, whose well-being is tied to yours… not just as someone you only see for a few hours at the workplace”.

Jordan has also participated in the development of training by the Local the Local Leadership in its efforts to strengthen its Shop Steward Training Program.
